Merv en Merla Watson Box – 12 CD’s

Merv Watson (born in 1936 in BC, Canada) married Merla (nee Lehman, born in 1937 in Toronto, Canada) in 1962. Both completed professional studies in classical music. Merv is a trained teacher of band instruments for high school programs and has a Pavorotti-style tenor voice. Merla’s musical gifts (piano, violin, viola, voice) resulted in 150 awards and scholarships. In 1967 they had a powerful experience with the Holy Spirit, whereupon they felt the Lord’s call to launch out into full-time ministry. Merla started to write new Christian songs with a Jewish flavor, which led to a whole series of concerts, both locally and internationally. In the late ’60s and early ’70s, they led the Toronto Catacombs, drawing approximately 2500 young folks per week, many of whom are in full-time service now to the Lord. A major breakthrough came with the Shekinah tour with singers, dancers, musicians in 1974 going to Canada, the USA, Holland, Switzerland, UK, and Israel. The succeeding years took them to over 50 countries. Particularly, their ministry focussed on the Jewish roots of the Christian faith. They also laid the foundation for Messianic worship. They have composed over 500 songs, several of which have become part of contemporary praise and worship all over the world. In Israel, where they lived for 40 years, they spearheaded the International Christian Embassy in Jerusalem, as well the Feast of Tabernacles, still going strong to this day! Together, they pioneered the Hebraic style of music and choreographed spiritual dance into worship. They have a residence near Vancouver BC, Canada as well as Jerusalem. This marks to date sixty years of an amazing ministry in music!!
